PassBack rewards scale with the SKU you purchased. The Bundle gets the highest reward because Bundle buyers are the candidates we learn the most from — they used everything the platform offers, so their post-pass perspective is the most useful to the next class of candidates.
Reward amount is based on the SKU you purchased, not the modality. One reward per candidate per modality. If you take multiple NIC exams (Cosmetology, then Esthetics later), each pass qualifies for a separate PassBack reward against that modality's purchase.

When a candidate finishes NICPrep and passes the NIC, what they learned along the way — what worked, what was confusing, what made the difference between attempt one and attempt two — is the most valuable feedback we'll ever get. It's information we can't generate from the inside, no matter how rigorous the audit standard. We need candidates to tell us, in their own words, what the prep felt like.
PassBack is our way of thanking you for sharing that. The cash back is small. The post you share is bigger — for us, because it shows future candidates what's possible; for you, because it marks an achievement that changed your career.
We're not buying reviews. We're inviting you into the team that's still building this thing.
Read the rules
before you post.
PassBack has a few rules. None of them are surprising, but the FTC requires us to be specific.
Eligibility
- You must be the original purchaser of a NICPrep modality.
- You must pass the corresponding NIC exam (not a state-specific board exam in another category).
- Your celebratory post must go up within 90 days of your pass date.
- You must submit your PassBack request within 60 days of posting.
Disclosure
- Your post must include #ad, #sponsored, or "in partnership with @NicPrepCom" — these are FTC-required disclosures for any compensated content, even at small reward amounts.
- Your post must tag @NicPrepCom on whichever platform you post (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X).
- Your post must remain publicly visible for at least 30 days after submission.
Verification
- We verify each pass against our customer database (so we know you bought from us) and your submitted score report or pass confirmation email (so we know you actually passed).
- We don't share your score report with anyone outside NICPrep, including in marketing.
- If we can't verify your pass, we'll reach out and ask for additional documentation. We don't deny rewards without telling you why.
Content license
- By submitting your post for PassBack, you grant NICPrep permission to share, repost, and embed your post on our channels (website, social media, email) with credit to you.
- You retain ownership of your content and can revoke this license at any time by contacting us.
- We don't use PassBack posts in paid advertising without separate written permission.
Limits
- One reward per candidate per modality (you can earn multiple PassBack rewards across different modalities).
- One reward per modality. Maximum rewards per candidate = number of NICPrep modalities available at time of purchase.
- We reserve the right to deny rewards for posts that don't meet the criteria above, but we'll always explain why.
- We reserve the right to update PassBack terms; the version of the terms in effect on your purchase date governs your eligibility.
Tax
- PassBack rewards are typically not taxable income for individual recipients.
- If you receive more than $600 in PassBack rewards in a calendar year (which would require multiple modality passes), we may issue a 1099 and you should consult a tax professional.
